Client:    The Whau Coastal Walkway Environmental Trust
Designer:  Hutchinson Consulting Engineers
Completed:   September 2018

This project formed an important link in the Te Whau Walkway project.

The project is a good example of Fort working with the Client to achieve an excellent final result.    Fort proposed an alternative design at tender stage, in lieu of sheet piling, that provided the Client with a sigificant cost saving.    Other cost saving options were also provided by precasting units on site and using cranes instead of the normally required barge work.

Our staff toiled in the quite arduous conditions of deep mud to achieve an excellent result all-round.

This facility is very popular with the locals and has enhanced access to the foreshore significantly.
